My Travels

On this page you'll read about all of my adventures near and far. And the small, minute details you have never heard before, as we look back at what I actually wrote and felt, on these trips that I'll never forget... *Everything that you'll read from this point forward, is exactly how it is written in my trip journals, from the grammar, to the punctuation, to the word choice*

BELIZE 2010
June 29, 2010 The Starting Point:
In the wee hours of the stark morning a waking call comes from my mom. I hop out of bed in a frantic state of mind fearing that it's too late to take a shower that I much need. But no, it's just a few minutes after 2:30am. I quickly hop out of bed and make preparations. After a nice soothing shower I go down stairs and am given strawberries, and milk. After gorging myself on two bowls full of strawberries and two glasses of milk, we were ready to go. Riding to the airport was as fun as sitting for a lecture. The sky was ominous, masquerading itself in a fine, sheet of clouds. The waning gibbous added more to the effect. Our chauffer was actually the grandfather of one of my best friends Kaliegh Ronan. We eventually rolled into our terminal drop-off. We unloaded and meandered into the luggage drop-off. While in the back of the line mama notices we have a half and hour until we were scheduled to board our first flight. Then the baggage ladie ask us to come up front because we had a 5:30am flight. But it wasn't until 10 minutes later when of the rude hispanic ladies brought us up to the counter. Then the lady designated to weigh and label our luggage was moving at a rate less than 1mph. With five minutes to spare she is done with our luggage and we haul it to our terminal #31. To our surprise they are already boarding people. Not to mention we still haven't been able to get seats. So we get our seats and board the plane. I made sure I got the window seat. I always get the window seat. We soon fly into the highest region of the clouds. Occasionally a few whispy clouds would lick at the wings. But otherwise it was just us on a never ending field of plush white clouds with the moon above us. That was good because I get wearily flying over large masses of water. Large quantities of time lapse as I intently read Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games. Eventually we start to dip down into the lower levels of the clouds. Before I knew it the pilot was telling us that the flight attendents would be preparing for landing. And sure enough Florida soon makes its appearance. I veer into the distance and notice that water is everywhere! Literally, there are at least 10 bodies of water in a 1/2 mile radius. Anywhom, besides that, I forgot to mention the people in front of me. These two love birds obviously have no respect for others because all 3 of the seats are reclined! Without even asking if I minded they just reclined at their own will. Oh well, it's over so how can I complain? When we were just about to land I swore that we were going to scrape the building below us. But in the end I guess the pilot knew what he was ding because we safely landed in Miami, Florida. We grab our carry-ons and leave the 757 American Airlines place to be exact. Thankfully we don't have to go through customs again, so we just mosey on over terminal #33. When we got over there mama had to used the bathroom for the third time! Once they (Mama & Lizzie) got back Joe and I went over to the little newstand to grab a water. But I couldn't decide on whether to get this most wonderful Beef Jerky or some Sour Patch Watermelons. In the end I go the Sour Patch Watermelons, for Lizzie and I to share. Joe also got Lizzie a pair of fuzzy socks. Then after sitting waiting to board, we were, in a short times notice, on the more-than-half empty plane. I swear 1 in 5 seats were occupied. Anywhom I didn't do much on this except gaze out my window in a trance. We flew over The Keys, Cuba, and the barrier reef before touching down in Belize City. Right before we landed we flew over the Belize River. To my standard, it was a filthy, filthy, river. The water looked like the consistency of cream and given the color as if someone dumped powdered cocoa in. Back to where I was. When we grabbed our carry-ons and stepped out the plane door it was if someone stuck a heat wall right at the doorway. To Be Continued Later.........
